I tuned in to Outkast in the early nineties. I have been inspired and continue to be. Andre 3000 has very few challengers in regards to idea construction and sincerity of Art. Big Boi has unparalled delivery and presence.
I produce a radio program called The Rich Experience, on KSCL 91.3 fm. Shreveport, Louisiana. Outkast has and remains a staple of my program because of the richness of thought and artistry that are signature to this group. Hip Hop is not dead but right now it is quiet without the Dungeon Family provoking thought as rapidly as before.
While earning my Bachelor of arts in 1999-2002, I produced another college radio program called The Other Tacks, KRVS 88.7 fm. in Lafayette Louisiana. Outkast was a staple then as well and tracks such as 13th Floor/Growing old, E.T., and You May Die really move the auidience and are timeless. Thank you for being brave and taking the chance all those years ago to let your raps be heard. One.
